Test: Trivio Carbon Pedals

Need pedals for your racing, mountain, or city bike? Choosing the right pedals for every kind of cyclist is simplicity itself. Arthur Pagnaer, cyclist, talks about choosing the right pedals.

I was given the opportunity to test the Trivio Carbon racing pedals. In my 10-year cycling career I always rode Shimano Ultegra pedals, so it wasn't easy to just switch to another brand. No cyclist likes to change something they've been familiar with for years. But because I was given this opportunity, it was definitely worth a try. For example, I fitted a new pair of Trivio carbon racing pedals to my Ridley Fenix SL, which weigh only 266 grams and yet still have a low weight.

The first ride, a quiet endurance training, still felt a bit awkward. This is normal when you mount new cleats under your cycling shoes and after only two or three workouts I was already pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of these pedals. Because of the larger surface of the pedal you have a perfect pressure and they are certainly not inferior to the Shimano ultegra pedals in terms of power transmission.

The ideal pedal tension is very personal for a cyclist, it is therefore easy to regulate via the Allen screw at the bottom of the pedal. In this way you can set the ideal pedal tension for you: a clear advantage. These Trivi pedals are also compatible with Look Keo pedals so if you always ride with Look, you don't have to mount any other plates and you can feel free to leave Look pedals on a second bike.

Price/quality, this pedal is a real eye-catcher. Carbon pedals of this quality at this price will be hard to find. Also the cleats (bolts included) are delivered with the pedals and you can start right away. I'm already convinced and will definitely switch to Triviopaedals next season.
